City Council is considering a Communications and Engagement Strategy, Social Media Policy, Media Relations Policy, and Public Engagement Policy.
In October 2015 a resolution was passed by Council directing staff to design and implement a Communications and Engagement Strategy. The strategy was developed within the Clerk’s Department under the guidance of an internal and an external working group.
The strategy consists of recommendations for improvement in the areas of internal communications; external communications and engagement; and conversations and collaboration. Other components of the strategy include Roles and Responsibilities and a set of policies for social media, media relations, and public engagement.
The draft Communications and Engagement Strategy, Social Media Policy, Media Relations Policy, and Public Engagement Policy have been received by City Council and are being provided to the public for review and comment prior to returning to Sarnia City Council for consideration of adoption.
